Cotgrave shopping center time-lapse film.

The Cotgrave Hub, in Cotgrave town centre in the Rushcliffe borough, has officially opened. It incorporates health, Rushcliffe Borough Council Customer Services team, library, police, and community and voluntary services; all now available under one roof. Hub occupants include Belvoir Health Group, Rushcliffe CCG, Inspire, Nottinghamshire Police and Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service . The Hub’s opening is part of a wider town regeneration, which includes the construction of over 460 new homes on its former Cotgrave Colliery site. There has also been extensive improvements to the town centre shops, with nine office suites in a new Business Hub and the creation of 15 new employment units on Colliers Way, now all fully let.

Behind the scenes

A little bit of information about the project:

I made this time-lapse film for Rushcliffe Borough Council in Nottinghamshire. The aim was to document the transformation and capture the redevelopment of Cotgrave’s shopping center. I used one long-term camera and shot more on-the ground footage to get more angles and make the story more visually interesting. For the one the ground footage I used the syrp genie long track time-lapse with genie motion control unit.

The long-term camera captured the overall view of the site. It up loaded the images to an online viewer. This meant the site could be checked every day without going to the location.

When shooting time-lapse I used to tape the lens so the focus would not get knocked out. I found some rubber bands for fixing flash gels to be a great hack. They are the blue bands in the photos. (selens-online .com)

I edited the video using LRtimelapse with lightroom and Da Vininci Resolve
